How to Choose The Right School For Your Family

When it comes to choosing a school, there are a lot of things that have to be considered. This can be thought of as a guide to choosing a school with a specific focus on a number of certain questions. Choosing a new school can be a difficult decision, to say the least. First and foremost, it is imperative that you make sure that you are in fact choosing the right school for the student as an individual and for the family as a whole. This can be accomplished by asking a number of key questions. Knowing the answers to those questions will help you decide if you have found a school that you want to know more about.

It is imperative that you have these key questions written out ahead of time so you know how to steer the conversation when meeting with a representative from one of the schools you are considering. Take a look at the key questions that are listed below so you can get a better idea of what you need to know.

1) Is the school accredited?
This question is important because it helps you understand the overall quality of the education you can expect your child to get at the school of your choice. It can also matter when it is time for your child to go to another school or even college.

2) What is the school’s approach to education like?
Obviously, you want to know that your child is getting a good education. Knowing the values held by the school can help you better understand what it will be like for your child to go to school there.

3) What about Fine Arts and extracurricular activities?
Fine Arts and sports are among some of the most exciting things for most children. Choosing a school that focuses on many of these types of activities can help your child become more well-rounded.

4) What is the average class size?
Class size is important. You want your child to get individualized attention but the class also has to be big enough to allow your child to interact with other students. Therefore, you don’t want it to be too big or too small.

5) What is the curriculum like?
Knowing the answer to this question can help you better understand exactly what types of subjects your child will be studying. This in turn can help you choose the right school for his or her individual needs.

6) Is the school safe for children to attend?
School safety has become a major concern in the last several years. This is a question every parent should ask of school officials before they send their child to any school.

Now that you know which questions to ask, you can get started searching for the school that will truly allow your child to grow. Every parent wants the best for their child. It will take some time and hard work on your part in order to get your questions answered to the fullest extent possible, as you will need to visit each school and ask the questions yourself. However, this is one of the most important things you will ever do. The school you choose can make all the difference between having a happy, well-rounded child or one that is insecure or worse yet, even struggling in school. Finding the answers to these questions can open new doors for your child, giving him or her the chance to run with the opportunities that present themselves. When it is all said and done, that is the thing that every parent hopes for.

Trinity Christian Academy vs. State and National Scores

As a parent, you want the very best for your child.

This includes all areas of his or her life and, in particular, education. From the time they are babies, children are learning about the world around them. This continues as they begin Preschool and Kindergarten and move on to early education. Seemingly within the blink of an eye, your little one is preparing for graduation and college.

What are you doing to prepare them now?

While it may seem premature to be planning for college while your child is in Kindergarten, it actually is not. The education decisions that you make now can have long-term effects that will follow them throughout their educational career. Of primary importance to consider is college entrance testing scores, namely the SAT and ACT tests. Most universities and four-year colleges use these tests to determine admission. They may also be used to earn scholarships and sometimes even college credit.

Since the results of these tests may mean the difference between your child getting into their desired college or not, it makes sense to prepare them as soon as possible. This is where Trinity comes in. Beginning with early childhood education, Trinity’s curriculum better prepares your child to be ready for these important exams. Our educational strategy benefits students whether they take the ACT or the SAT exam.

Depending on your child’s chosen career path, a good college education can be critical in determining their success in a chosen field. It is an important and sometimes difficult decision, without having to worry about admissions tests and being accepted after a college is chosen. Add to that the pressure of preparing for and passing national standardized tests and it can become almost overwhelming. By choosing Trinity for your child’s education, you can be assured that your child will be confident and prepared to take either the SAT or ACT test when the time comes.

Education begins early for children and, hopefully, doesn’t end when they leave school. Life itself is a learning process whether one is in school, on the job or in a relationship. There are, however, certain quantified standards that must be met if one is to continue with formal education. Since this is the case, it is important to prepare your child to meet these standards in the best way possible. A good education can be an expensive investment, but not having one can be even more costly.

Our children are the future. It’s up to us, as parents, to give them their best possible chance to succeed in what they desire to pursue. If college is in the future for your child, even if they are just learning to read, Trinity will get them on the right track to success. They only have one chance to get a good education, so why not give them the best? If you’re ready to take that positive step toward a better future for your child, download the Research Results from 2014-2016, comparing Trinity to state and national levels where our students consistently achieve higher results. We know you love your child and dream of giving them the best education possible.

Contact Trinity today and let us help you make that dream come true!

“The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe”

Trinity’s Upper School Drama will present a classic this holiday season: “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.” The cast has students from both the Upper and Lower schools.

This new dramatization of C.S. Lewis’ classic, set in the land of Narnia, faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia.

The intense action features chases, duels, and escapes as the witch is determined to keep Narnia in her possession and to end the reign of Aslan. All the memorable episodes from the story are represented in this exciting dramatization: the temptation of Edmund by the witch, the slaying of the evil wolf by Peter, the witnessing of Aslan’s resurrection by Susan and Lucy, the crowing of the four new rulers of Narnia, and more.

The supporting characters are also here: the unicorn, the centaur, and other forest animals, along with Father Christmas, Mr. and Mrs. Beaver, and Tumnus the Faun. This story of love, faith, courage and giving, with its triumph of good over evil, is a true celebration of life.
