Oct. 29 – Nov. 2 to benefit the Salvation Army Food Pantry
As we approach the holiday season, we have a wonderful opportunity to teach our children that it is more blessed to give than to receive. Out of a thankful heart for the many blessings we receive from the Father, we can (and are commanded to) give to those who are less fortunate than we.
Each year, Trinity Christian Academy collects food to help support the Salvation Army of Lexington’s Food Pantry. The Salvation Army has a long history of providing assistance to anyone in need. Here in Lexington, in addition to the Food Pantry they also offer a homeless shelter for women and children, counseling, an Early Learning Center, and other services.
Trinity will be gathering food from Monday, Oct. 29 through Friday, Nov. 2. Every Lower School family will be designated as a Pilgrim or an Indian. We always have a lot of fun competing against one another to see which group wins by bringing in the most items. All donated items need to be clearly marked with a “P” for Pilgrim and an “I” for Indian so that they can be counted correctly and assigned to the right team.
