Cross Country Update – 9-24-18

The Trinity Elementary Teams competed in two meets this past week.

At the Boyle County Invitational,  the boys won the 3rd Grade and Under Division while the girls were runner up in the 3rd Grade Under Division.

At the Lakeside Invitational, Anna Reese Hopper finished in first place to lead the girls team to a first place trophy. Gabby Kate Mattern, Reagan Stewart, Caroline Corse, Aubrey Mueller and Isabel Clark were all top 10 medalists.

The boys team led by medalists, Graham Calihan and Noah Westerfield, finished in 3rd place.  

In Varsity Action, both the boys and girls teams finished in 3rd place at the Lakeside Invitational. Jacob Coffey and Elijah Cardona were medalists for the boys, while Kendall Rowe, Jenna Raye Hopper and Ava Xenos were medalists for the girls.

Trinity’s Night Market

Night Market at Trinity
5:30-8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 2

Join us at Trinity’s first Night Market! This event will serve as a fundraiser for our school and also allow us to support Trinity families and friends. Any interested vendor may email us at trinitynightmarket@mail.com to acquire an online registration form.

Trinity families get priority registration until Oct. 8! Friends of Trinity families will be invited to reserve their booths Oct. 9. 

The fee for a 5′ X 8′ booth space is $30 and there is an additional cost for table rental ($5 per table) and electricity access ($5).

Please join us in sharing your business in an evening of shopping and fellowship! 

Vendor Guidelines:

1. Set up is 3:45-5:30 p.m. There will be no access to the inside of the school until this time. 
2. A booth size is 5′ X 8′ and will be placed at our discretion. 
3. Electricity access is limited and will be sold first come, first serve. 
4. “Cash and carry” items are required for each booth. 
5. Each booth must post a sign with the accepted form of payment.
6. A donation of an item or items from your booth to the PTF raffle basket is required. 
7. In case of cancellations, no refunds will be issued. 
8. We want a variety of businesses and will limit repetition of vendors. 
9. We reserve the right to prohibit any display that is offensive or does not meet our criteria.

Titan Talks

Trinity is launching a new speaker series for parents designed to bring current educational and spiritual topics to the table for discovery and discussion. The speakers will be members of our Trinity faculty who are exceptionally passionate and knowledgeable about the topics presented.

The first Titan Talk is at 7-8:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 18, at Daily Offerings Coffee Roastery on Malabu Dr.

October’s topic will be “Human Identity in the Age of Technology” with speaker Aaron Ames, who teaches Upper School Logic, Rhetoric & Aesthetics, and Speech & Debate.

Trinity Receives Commissioner’s Cup!

Trinity Wins Commissioner’s Cup for 2017-18 Athletics

If you followed Trinity’s athletic teams last year, you know we had an outstanding year in so many areas. The National Athletic Association of Private Schools (NAAPS) took notice, and the organization has awarded Trinity the Commissioner’s Cup in our division for the 2017-18 athletic year! The Commissioner’s Cup recognizes overall excellence in private school athletics and is considered the most prestigious award an athletic program can win.

We will celebrate with an award presentation at the Lower School at 5:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 5, during our Fall Festival, part of our Homecoming week activities.

At the end of the athletic calendar, each NAAPS member will have their top two scores from both male and female sports calculated. One school from each classification, with the highest total points from all four sports, will be awarded the Commissioner’s Cup for that school year. 

Point totals are earned when a private school is ranked in the final national rankings of any NAAPS sanctioned sport, national championship, All-Americans, All-Region, and state award winners.

Fall Festival

 

Bring the whole family for an afternoon of food and fun! Activities include: inflatables, face painting, games, pie eating contest, soccer derby, and pumpkin painting. Enjoy kettle corn, cotton candy, food trucks, and funnel cakes.

Arrive a little early for our Lower School Pep Rally starting at 3:15 pm!

Cross Country Update

Trinity had a great showing at the Reformed Runners Invitational at Berea College on Saturday, Sept. 8.

In team competition, the Varsity Girls team placed second, the elementary girls team placed first, and the elementary boys team placed fourth. The elementary girls dominated with 7 out of the top 10!

In individual honors, the following runners were top 10 in their divisions:

• Boys Varsity:  Jacob Coffey
• Girls Varsity:  Kendall Rowe, Jenna Raye Hopper, and Ava Xenos
• Boys elementary:  Graham Calihan
• Girls elementary:  Gabby Kate Mattern, Caroline Corse, Reagan Stewart, Aubrey Mueller, Anna Reese Hopper, Ella Katherine Corse, and Isabelle Clark

Next Saturday, the Cross Country Titans head to Lakeside for the Falcon Run.

Congratulations Alexis Hopper

Trinity celebrates Alexis Hopper (8th grade) whose science project has received high distinction at the national competition! Alexis has been selected as one of the Top 300 in the 2018 Broadcom MASTERS®, a program of Society for Science & the Public.

This honor places Alexis among a select group of 300 MASTERS named from 2,537 entrants throughout the United States. It is a well-earned distinction that points to Alexis’s hard work and dedication. 

Alexis’s project is titled ‘Shocking Stem Cells’ and it examined the effects of shock wave therapy on the survivability of stem cells in vitro fertilization.

We are so proud of you, Alexis!
