A team that included three Trinity sophomores won the Lieutenant Governor’s Entrepreneurship Challenge (LGEC) at the regional level and will move on to compete against other regional finalists from around the state at the end of April.
Team members are: Preston Crouch, Zach Kirkendall, Jonathan Tanaka, and Jonathan Harrison (homeschooled).
The LGEC is a tiered business pitch competition for all Kentucky high school students grades 9-12. It is intended to introduce students to a realistic competitive business environment, as well as promote business ownership and lifelong learning.
At the LGEC Finals, scheduled for April 29 at the University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business and Economics in Lexington, the 10 finalist teams will compete for $80,000 in scholarships. The top three teams will split the scholarship funding, which can be used at any post-secondary institution in Kentucky.
